Here is the pic! Still definately getting the hang of taking decent coin photos, but that was the best one.

It has not seen much use... The flash has really exagerated imperfections, but without it, the photos were dull/blurred. In hand it looks very close to new.

There is no wear only light scratches in the lustre. At least EF in my opinion and have no doubt the light is showing up every single scratch and looks much better in hand.

larena, Congratulations on your find! I have found 4 NCLT coins while searching - including the above 50c. I think that NCLT is "More common than I would expect" as I would not really expect it to ever end up in circulation, however it is also "quite rare to find". I think it is quite likely that there are other coins which I have handled which came out of "collector packaging", but since that year/denomination was also released in the wild, you cannot tell any more that it came from a pack.

Ozcoins...it says in my books that 1989 one dollar was in 'mint sets only'..is that right which year were you talking about? Quote: but since that year/denomination was also released in the wild, you cannot tell any more that it came from a pack.

Larena, I was congratulating you on finding a coin that was not intended for circulation - your 1989 dollar. The part you quoted was referring to other coins which may have been removed from collector packs, but once circulated you can not tell, because they just look like other coins from the same year which were intended for circulation.
