I have quite a few rolls of (Canadian) pennies in uncirculated condition. I'm wondering id it would be better to "batch" them, selling a bunch of them as a lot, as opposed to trying to sell them individually.
I am about to do something similar, sell some modern coins (cents, nickels, dimes, quarters, half Dollars in mint packaged cello) on ebay, and I am going to break them into year sets 1968 (P,D,S), 1970 (P,D,S), etc... Looks like the ones I placed on the CCF Auction did not do very well at all. You would have a wider audience on ebay, might be worth the fees incorporated with the sale though.
Then again; individual coins may bring more "bang for the buck".
If they are low value coins the paypal fees 30c + 2.9% really eat into your margin if you only make $1 or 2 on each item. I would group them in small lots of diffrent dates like oih82w8 suggested.
Thanks for the advice. I think I will group the pennies into small lots. This will also mean less trips to the post office, and less time taken up with doing all the adminsitrivia (letters, postage, etc.). Does this make sense?
