Howdy,

I'm new to collecting and very new to any mint error coins, so I don't know what I have here. It's a 1955 Dime ('S' Mint?) where it seems to maybe have been stamped too hard or something. Or there was too much silver and it overflowed the die, I don't know. But front and back sides are recessed within a smooth outer ring. I've attached pics, so I hope this suffices. Please let me know what you think!

Ah, thanks. A ' Dryer Coin' would be recessed like this, then? Also, the other thread said, "a Dryer Coin would be rolled and have a lot of marks on it," but there are no other marks on this coin...

The surface of a " Dryer Coin" would be recessed and the rim would be thicker and with a smaller diameter than normal. The rim does look a little rolled. Maybe it either spent less time in a dryer or the silver content resulted in no marks.

A Dryer Coin is literally a coin that has been left in a clothes drier for a length of time and the rim has been squashed into the coin by the action of the dryer.
Hope this helps
