There is a significant corrosion spot on the obverse, but I think this might be the "horned" nine of the 1869/69. Thoughts?

I would need a closer pic to confirm, but it does look like it might be the S3 variety.

Sadly, it's not my coin, so I can't do better on the photos. It might be worth taking a chance on the ebay auction, but I think that I'm gonna pass.

It may well be an S3, but it has potential problems like a chemical dip--initial bid is set too high, imo.
