I first got into Morgans and collecting and buying while I was in Iraq--boredom and extra money.

I have tried and tried to force Paypal to give me "Other Options" for payment when there is money IN my Paypal account. I would rather have the assurance of American Express on some deals than the Ebay/Paypal group.

If I keep a zero balance it can go to one of two accounts which I can override with a credit card, and all their nagging that goes with it. BUT, if I have money there I have not found a way to use the CC.

I am not opposed to immediately moving every sale to my bank account; it's just a PITA. Is there a trick?

I have never done this, but...........

I understand if you, yourself open another email account somewhere, and send a paypal payment (your withdrawal) there, that you can later go into that second email and deny the money. That would send it back to your main account.

As I said, I've never done this. You might have to figure out a few kinks as you go along. I would try it with a dollar first before you mess up your whole deposit.

Of course that's a BIGGER PITA than withdeawing the money. Paypal doesn't really want anyone using credit cards. It gives the credit card provider control, and Paypal, understandably prefers to be in control.

Good luck.

Steve's suggestion, while clever, sounds like more work than transfering the money. I don't know of a way.

Uh, yeah. When a seller recently ran off with my money, paypal found in my favor and then said, "so sorry, no refund for you!". Whereas my credit card said, "no problem, here's your cash back!"

Paypal makes enough on each transaction that they can ferret away a small percentage to cover this kind of thing. Until they do, their buyer protection is meaningless garbage.

They can be in control as soon as they start acting responsibly. Until then, it's AMEX all the way!
Rest in Peace

Seth, I've tried to get around that PayPal barrier myself. I like to keep a balance in my PayPal account and would prefer with some purchases to charge them to my credit card thus leaving my PP balance intact. If there's a way to charge a purchase to a credit card instead of PayPal first taking it out of my account, I haven't found a way.
