I have seen a lot of roll searches on here looking for particular period nickels for their nickel content. Can I get individual opinions and experiences why do you think nickel will go up in value? Or not go up. Look forward to reading your views. CHEERS!

Nickel is a reasonably scarce critical industrial metal. The price will be related to industrial demand.

+1, the price of metals are related to the demand of the product, it's like in numismatic with the value of coins ;)

Most people save nickels for their copper content. Nickels are 75% copper.

Wquinn,

Pre 1982 nickels In canada are .999 fine.
US nickels yes are 75% copper 25% nickel, I still have no clue why you Americans hoard them. Both copper and nickel would have to greatly rise in price to see any substantial profit, and what most people forget is when melting laws are changed your going to pay huge fees to get these melted down which more than likey would eat up the majority of any profit.

In my opinion, it is a long term play. If it does become profitable in the long run, those that start saving them now (while they are still at face value) will do well.
