Hello, I recently started collecting pre-1918 German paper money and have a question about serial numbers. I was just wondering what the Letters were that were either next to or before the serial number, for example the 1910 1000 Mark has a H at the end of its serial number

There is no particular significance to the letter. It probably just indicates the series (eg. A to H or more).
Are they red or green serial numbers and 6 or 7 digits as this affects the value?
