Altho it's not actually complete, I consider some of my sets complete.

For example, I just bought the 1871 2¢ coin, so now I have the run of eight coins: 1864-1871. The 1872 and 1873 are so rare they're out of my league so I'm considering my 2¢ coin collection complete unless I can find replicas of the missing coins.

My Shield nickel will be complete without the 1871 and 1877-1881 as they're too expensive for me. I'm satisfied with the others. I have almost all of the others.

The Liberty Head "V" Nickel set is complete for me. I'm missing the 1885, 1886 and 1912S, but as far as I'm concerned I'm done.

Buffalo nickels can be affordable and I have the full set.

The Indianhead cent set will be complete for me just as soon as I get the 3 I'm still missing, but I'm not going after the 1877, 1908S or the 1909S. Out of my league.

As for a complete collection, it's never complete. Sets can be completed but there's always new coins coming out for you to gather.

I know with respect to my Lincoln cents, I'll consider the wheat subset complete sans the VDB's, and my whole set complete when I have through 1974, then I might expand forward to 1981 or '82.

I dont expect to complete it ever, since I'll refrain from buying wheats until my set of favorite US classics and world bullion is complete
