I just ran across this listing and I wish I have enough powder..... Reason: I've just order the some PAMP Suisse dragon bar a day or two before (right before the drop too).

The catch is they sell in big lot and there are some 100oz bars and kilo coins too. There's also a 15% buyer fee.

Here's a quote of the listing: "2,500+ Troy Ounces Of Silver Coins & Bars Sold In 60 Lots: 1,600 1oz Silver Coins; 1oz, 5oz, 10oz & 100oz Silver Bars; Grain & Gram Bars & Coins; 1lb & 1 Kilo Silver Coins; Limited Edition & Foreign Silver Coins. . .; (Set of 4) US Eagle Gold Coins, (1) Miniature 1980 South African Krugerand, (1) $50 Canadian Gold Coin; (4) Boxes of 500 ea. Uncirculated 2005 Buffalo Head Nickels; 2 Coils of Approx. 25 Ounces Each Fine Silver; 200+ Pennies; Assorted US & Foreign Coins & Currency. . .See Photo Gallery For 200 Photos"

They also have tons of other items too..... like knives, sword, painting, furnitures.... etc.

Those of you curious and want to know, this is an Auction for the Los Angeles County Treasury Tax. Here's the full link: http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/...7456252.html

I am planning to attend just for the heck of it. Anyone in SoCal and plan/want to go then may be we can meet up. Those of you live far away.... if you see any item(s) of your interest then let me know, I can try and do some 'favors'.

Wish I lived in SoCal,
I'd pick up one of those ugly bricks to use as a door stop

Wow Bruce. I just made plans to go to Santa Anita for the races and the BBQ cook off on Saturday. Why the heck does this have to be on saturday too :(.

Bruce do you think the gold or silver will be going for below spot or does it go for spot or above spot?

Chris,

To tell you the true, I don't really know how the auction will come out, especially when there are a lot of people (bidding war). I've went to smaller auction and they bid up common Morgan dollar at more than retail price.

The 15% buyer fee is another factor. I will just go for the experience and don't expect to find great deal - I am hoping otherwise though.

You can come early for the preview @ 7:30am and leave there around noon..... that's what I am planning to do. PM me if you decide to come.

I'll let ya know if I am gonna come. The races start at about 11 so imma talk to my buddy and see if he wants to head to the auction first.

After checking out the site more, I got a bad feeling the stuff will end up being over priced. Maybe the antiques you can find good deals, but things like gold and silver I think may cost you more then they should. The reasons being the 15% buyers fee and the 9.75% tax. I could be wrong though :D.
