briank Valued Member United States 256 Posts	Posted 03/07/2012 6:30 pm I just picked up an Ngc slabbed 1897 s barber half vf35 , which for me was a good deal of money. I have a question about the slab itself. On the bottom of the slab it looks to be fused? Does anybody have pictures of the sides of the slab, in particular the top and bottom of the sides of the slab? And if a coin has been graded by NGC and was cleaned, would they annotate that on the holder? I've seen numerous that did say cleaned but do they all? Thanks Report this Post to the Staff

oih82w8 Pillar of the Community United States 7840 Posts	Posted 03/07/2012 6:51 pm If it was determined "cleaned" by NGC it would have stated "details" on the slab insert. I believe that the slab is fused together, and if it was tampered with it would be obvious. Report this Post to the Staff

Its probably the slightly older version of the NGC slab... the seam on them is not exactly confidence inspiring... The first time I saw one it looked re-glued almost. The newer version looks better.
