Hey Gang , curious if some of you could throw some opinions at me on this one .. I'm pretty sure I got it , if not close ... I appreciate it the thing I Didnt notice the clashed obverse "US" in the hairvee so running with the Vam3 Still.. Opinions welcome , forth morgan I've attacked so far so any info is welcome.. if someone would like me to take a photo of the Hair-area to inspect feel free to let me know ill do my best to get a proper photo of the area (i have some shots ill post here now but I used the crappy microscope if needed.. ill use my digi-cam with the macro's for clearer pics) .. you can see the Polishing lines *sorry for them bad photos dam scope* along with the Over polishing of the Neck Area- *pitting* Really noticable all over this thing.. Flush MM and to me its pretty solid and thinking LDS Edited by tatt2ed13 03/10/2012 5:16 pm

It's a mid die state the mid late die state is clashed 2 times and has UST clashed in the hair vee. It aslo has a light rim crack. If there is a die state is rarer then others it's that one Vam-3a

Ahh TWOHAWKS , :)
Always giving me info I didnt even notice . but totally makes sense now looking at My MM and the LDS .. could see why you say Mid Die State ... (i just went by the two types described in the VW post about the o/s's and assumed , thats another learning curve, now I get that its a reff for the Early-Late . has to be something in the middle eh ? lol)
Thanks again , Phil

One of the first coins I ever had graded was a VAM-5 and I didn't know what the term VAM meant at that time. I just sent it in as a o/s and when it came back as a VAM-5 I was left scratching my head but still never really understood what VAM meant until I joined this site. This is an old picture but it came back an AU-58 from NGC

Finnally made the decision to get some coins graded .. this is one , along with a 1878-cc (unattributed) And a few others are going to VSS since already in PCGS holders ... 1900-o MS65 and a 1884-o MS63 to get VAM attributions Cant wait to see the results .. phil

What do you think this 82 o/s will grade out at? Or better yet, post it in the grading section with clearer pictures! Also, I've only seen VSS, never used them. How are their prices compared to NGC, ANACS?

VSS site - http://varslab.com/very Reasonable Prices .. I honestly never used any of the other TPG's .. PCGS would be who I would use (which I am this time) and for the attributions VSS to me is the way to go .. If you already have graded PCS,Anacs,NGC and I believe he works with ICG holders as well , he will Attribute the VAM and places a very nice looking "label" on the holder thats recognized by the tpgs .. Go check out the site and see what you think .. I like the idea for my already graded coins that havnt been attributed ... *he also will slab raw coins* As for the grading of this one , I dono how to judge this ... just due to the pitting , and me being a newbie haha .. Im thinking the Photos posted will be what I'm going to do .. Yea ill do that now haha .. going to get a few new pics and post on that Forum .. thanks for the idea TonedMO \m/ phil \m/
