Hi folks, new member here.

Was wondering if there was anything interesting about these coins. I just took a group shot for now; if anyone likes I'll post individuals.

Thanks.

btsmith: Welcome to the CCF if we haven't already done so.

Metallic Aussie expats abroad! Can't really pick up all of the dates from the pictures. Could you give us a clue on the dates, as well as your grading opinion?

Could you post individual photos of the 1936 Penny. it is very hard to tell but it looks like it could be in better condition than the rest. Are copper coins your interest?

enworb-- Here's the 1936 penny.
I'm not particularly interested in copper coins; these were just six that were left to me. I've also got five English pennies (1917,1918,1920[2 of these],1935)and a 1943 half-penny. Do you think I should post these in the World Coin section?

sel_69l--The pennies are 1912, 1924, 1936, 1939 and 1943.
The half-penny is 1936. They all seem to be in about the same condition as the picture here.

The 1936 is close to the VF mark but not worth much as that date turns up in higher grades very often. A nice example of an Aussie penny though if you want to keep one for your collection.

If the coins are all around the very fine level of condition, which they seem to be, at that grade, the catalogue values are about:
(pennies):

1912 - $25
1924 - $30
1936 - $8
1939 - $8
1943 - $5

(halfpenny)
1936 - $4

Interestingly, I have never collected Australian coins by date. I have just checked a local auction catalogue, and was surprised to see how closely the estimate prices matched book catalogue prices.

In my opinion most of the 1936 mintage coins are found in relatively good shape compared to the other KG V coins

im fairly sure thats due to the fact of there large mintage and that they were taken from circulation as the last KGV issue and kept as a momento.
