Has anyone ever run across this variation of the Libertad and/or have it in their collection? It's not actual currency. I think I remember it coming in a pretty nice box and I believe the COA, which I've misplaced somewhere, said it was called, "Winged Victory Medal," released as a 2000 commemorative proof. I've had it for a couple of years but have never seen it on ebay before or since. Must be rare; but it's hard to assign value to a medal. I don't recall if it had a mintage number on the COA.

The Angel of Independence or the winged angel of victory, celebrating the beginning of Mexico's war of independence.
I don't have much of a collection, so I can say that no, I haven't seen one. But my googling skills say that, Its a medallion under constant reproductions every few years. With 1 oz of .999 silver.

Unfortunately each different website I visit, each have a different design for the coin of this year. Nothing on the mintage number.

Thanks for checking into it so thoroughly. That's what I live about this site. It's populated with great people. I wish I hadn't misplaced the COA, assuming it came with one. At first, I thought it did but now I'm doubting myself. I didn't know it was something the Mexican government distributed periodically. I believe I paid about $28 for it so I can't complain about getting a bad deal, I suppose. I just was curious re: its rarity.

Thanks Again!
