Post Your New Currency Acquisitions!

Rather disappointingly my order was cancelled and my money refunded. Apparently after selecting an ambiguous postage selection (first class insured) that was just for the states. I tried to reorder but he is asking $59.50 for postage (yes for two banknotes)

This seller is called Tony Fein on V-coins... I have bought US notes before on V-coins from Ephesus Numismatics ($4 postage) and coins from Holding History ($7 postage)

Quite disappointing, and a poor way to run a business (refunding and cancelling the order with no consultation or request for additional postage.) I would like the notes but out of principle don't want to buy from this dealer anymore.

Not currency, but a New Size Currency Handout distributed July 1st 1929 giving the general public an example size of the new smaller size paper money circulating. It also lists the portraits to expect on the new size currency.

We aren't talking much value less than £100 ($140?) He actually did message me back after I complained with a lower postal value, but it would be "at my risk" and to be honest if he isn't clued up I know that it will incur import duty etc anyway as I think he wants to declare maximum value for insurance...

I did consider asking to slingshot it through someone like yourself, but I will just pass for now since I made an impulse purchase of a coin instead.

I wish more was available this side of the Atlantic...decent US notes aren't easy to come by over here and post and import is always an irritation to say the least.

Thanks, yes we did discuss this but always seems that US notes are taking a backseat to something else...(still 4 coins off completing a coin binder I have been working on) the reply was that I had promised to do another trade with Dave... he had some issues and now it seems like he has disappeared, which is a shame because he looked after me with a woodchopper and was going to put me together a big package of other stuff... hope he is OK...

No hurry I guess... but I will correspond with you more in the future no doubt.

Back from grading, this 1907 $5 LT has one of my favorite vignettes. I predicted this note would come back 35PPQ, and I might have been wishful thinking. The hard horizontal fold distracts a little, but the note has great eye appeal and original paper qualities.....and any note with a dog on it is a good thing.

Steve - That's a nice Woodchopper. The top/bottom obverse centering is often a problem with this issue, and yours is just about perfect.

rbaum - Wow, you don't find those in circulation very often - they are now over 50 years old.
