I was able to view this note in person and fell in love with it's originality. I wanted an XF or better example, but really liked the eye appeal of this one. I won this yesterday from the Heritage Auction.

Thanks scopru.
This is the auction description, and my question is, was this an EPN note first or afterwards ?
Fr. 752 $2 1918 Federal Reserve Bank Note PCGS Very Fine 35PPQ. The boldly inked blue overprint stands out on this wholly original mid grade example. From the Digiovanni de Abruzzi Collection.

Nice one - definitely the best reverse design on any US currency for my money. I've got one from the same district and look at it all the time - as I recall, the engraving was actually based on the battleship USS New York to begin with.

Nice battle ship, Steve! It must be great to be down in FUN territory. Do you know if there's going to be another FUN this year? The coins & currency offered this time were outstanding. I'd say the bill was first Mr. Newman's. He was such a long-time collector, plus it has his name on it still.

Looks like less than 10 notes total known for the bank! Congrats!

Yep! Only 8 in the National Bank Note online census. Only 1 $20 known before this one. Total of 600 were printed.

Here are two recent pickups for my circulated type set. The 1891 is well used but don't see them a lot at my budget so took a chance.

We sure don't see many of those $20 SCs here on the forum - congrats!

Maybe it's the picture, but the 1891 $20 SC has the look of a note that may have been improperly stored .
