Of course, you would know better since the note is in hand but, from the pics, I see what certainly resembles a pinhole in the upper left margin of the front and, another one, in the top margin of the back, left of center, over the DO of One Dollar. If I were using the pics as a buying tool, this would make me pass.

The mark in the upper left obverse margin was a bit of gunk on the holder (gunk removed, see below). The reverse mark you mention is simply not there, must be some lighting fluke. Appreciate your input as always!

It's amazing what pics can and can't do, sometimes. I bought a note one time and there was a huge horizontal crease through the portrait that didn't even faintly show up on the pics. I still have the note and, one day, I'm going to post the pics, before and after, as a kind of show and tell. It's why one needs a return policy, even on slabbed stuff with pics.

I temporarily put the note into a used holder after buying it (in person), then forgot to clean the holder before taking a pic. But I agree with you - I wouldn't have bought it from that first pic either!

Got this repeater from the bank yesterday. Too bad someone wrote on it and it is in circulated condition. Oh well it is still going in my collection.

Steve - How did you come to acquire these three companion "12" notes - as a lot, I'm guessing?

I had the 12 first, and a friend gave me a lead on the 123 and 1234 as a set.
