Not pretty at all, but it's stinkin' rare. Only 3 large in the census. This note makes 4 large.
Excellent!

Great find - hard to believe it's that rare given the serial number!

A friend messaged me the other day saying he had a cool set of radar/repeater notes. I don't typically go out my way to collect these, but I thought they were great as a set. Pretty nice grades too.

Great set, Steve! Can't imagine how one can get the match-ups like that.

Got this at auction yesterday. Just 3 mil made, including the dgs of the same date, yet it's not especially scarce.
Anybody know why some are dark green and some are light for 1928B? Was the BEP just playing around with the ink colors?

with Coinfrog on this, but I did manage to pick up a pair of raw RADARs somewhere along the way ...

Always liked that they were from the same FRB, same series, same print run (Aug 90) and "only" 33,000 notes apart

Very nice! Y'see, I'd now have to have a radar from each district or the same number from a different series or...

Nice notes, Baddog.

Coinfrog, you have to start somewhere...dollars are a good way. What are the chances of finding your phone number?

I'm sure someone can do the math, but it would have to match either the first 7 or last 7 digits of the 8-digit serial number. Assuming the 8th digit doesn't matter, that would give you 20 chances in 9,999,999. I think. Stats and probability was never my strong suit.

Found this nice Black Eagle at auction recently. The Lyons-Treat sig combo is the third in this long series and on the scarcer side as these go (though hardly rare), with just over 100 million printed - a lot, but it is still more than 20 times less common than the final Speelman-White issue in terms of known survivors. This was near the end of the era when print runs were so small that no suffix letter was needed! It was printed in late 1905 or early 1906.

Nice centering, wonderful touch-and-feel embossing.

Nice note, Coinfrog, but there does seem to be a couple of pinholes, if that bothers you.

That sounds about right, or, 50,000 to 1. If one has two lines, cell and land, then 25,000 to 1. If one checks 100 bills a month, in just 21 years they should find one!
