If I remember correctly, in Hong Kong, three banks (HSBC, Standard Chartered, and Bank of China) can print legitimate money. It looks like the US used to employ the same approach on classic paper notes...very interesting! |

I did a write up on the bank a while back but I never said why I bought the $10 #884. I thought it was neat that some towns had banks that issued currency. This town is about 45 minutes away.

Got a $10 Star note from the bank teller on Friday... To bad it has an obscenity word written on it, but non the less, it's a Star note and I will keep it...

Bryan - keep it for a souvenir if you like, but do not keep it for any potential apreciation value - it likely has none.

I like the $5 because the serial is very cool.
The $5 is in Gem condition and the price was face.

Absolutely, great low S/N binary. I just see the old notes first (I guess because I'm old) and have a particular interest in the '28F $2 series as I have a couple myself.

Well I finally pulled the trigger on a note that I've always wanted and one that was reasonable. This completes finally my 1923 set. I can look past the condition on a note such as this. Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas to me!   |
