PS - As noted before, I am generally a CGA fan, although I usually discount their grades by a full point. Although early-generation CGA holders like this do not designate paper quality, the holders are not as rigid as the later generations, which allows you to get a better sense of paper wave and other PQ factors.

This is my newest CSA note. It is now the centerpiece to my CSA collection. I have been waiting a long time to finally purchase one of these.

1864 $500 CSA

Thanks for the comments guys...The note is not super rare by any means. You have a lot of non CSA currency collectors that want this note due to the fact that Stonewall Jackson and the confederate flag are on this note which drives the price up. There is more demand for this note than most CSA notes. There are quite a few that are rarer but may not be as popular due to the design of the note.

I "think" that this is the only CSA note which has the confederate flag on it. I'm not 100% sure about that though.

Connor, great 1864 $500 CSA note. I bought one of these in 1967 for $27 and kept it for many years. Wish I didn't sell it, now I've got to spend many times more to replace it.

Wow, you keep out-doing yourself, amrys! Very impressive! And a low-ish SN to boot.

There is no other Confederate bill with the CSA Flag.
I love this bill.
