I've never ordered boxes before. But I search about 4 boxes a week and I get whichever denomination I am in the mood for. Most boxes I have ever gotten from 1 bank is 2 boxes. I've never tried for more.

Most for me was:

Pennies - 8 boxes
Nickels - 4 boxes
Halves - 10 Boxes

Sometimes you get lucky when you ask for a box of something and the teller asks 'just one box?' I usually say 'whatever you want to get rid of' Or I'll leave my name and number and have them call me if they are going to ship out excess boxes of coin. They are always pretty friendly about doing that.

Just this past week I picked up two boxes at once. One was a nickel box and the other was a penny box. Found about 20 wheats, one silver war and one dateless buff in the lot. Normally I just pick up one lonely box.

I think that more than 2 boxes of any coin for any one visit is over the top. If someone gets one or two boxes per day every day of the work week, that seems a little bit over the top, especially if it would be more than 2 boxes in one visit.

I think large amounts of boxes are what cause banks to put rules into place where they start charging us for getting coins. Don't abuse this.

I am willing to bet money that 5 years from now, any consumer (not business) getting boxes of coins for themselves will be charged a flat fee... and we're doing this to ourselves!

That's why I usually get one box from a bank, a week. I do more than 1 box a week, but I hit up several banks so I don't short their supply. No banks ever complain about me getting 1 box a week.

I think the most I ever picked up at one bank was 2 boxes of halves, reasonably heavy.

Most in 1 day was 3, yesterday, from 2 different orders.

Most dumped: 5 bank zipper pouches of halves, today. So heavy I could barely lift it out of my car. Made me wobble when I walked, and it shook the whole car when I set down the backpack with them all in it. It dumped to $1488 at one coin machine, my state bank. Love them.
