Pardon the cheesy photos. This original PCGS holdered Isabella 25c is graded MS63. This might be a legit MS63 and I bought it as such, but will resubmit it to get a current gen holder. If it goes MS64 then I would have picked this up for 35% of the price of a 64.

The Isabella dollar was minted by culling obsolete silver coinage held in the US government stockpiles. Kenyon Cox's artwork was translated to coin by Charles Barber- it is one of his finest translations, if you ask me. Critics at the time bashed this and the Columbian Half- bemoaning the lack of craft on the part of the mint and the current generation of sculptors.

It remains one of the first symbols of the country's changing political demographics- a 25 cent souvenir of woman's suffrage. A $1,000 to $1,500 coin from 1980-1990.

That's a great one.
The design is so strange compared to much of what has come out of the mint, even in those years. I think you have a good chance at getting this into a 64 holder.

You know all the fine points of this coin as well or better that I do CC ... so need need for my input on the design/history ... etc.

I will mention that the

are not quite up to your normal standards.

My humble opinion is that you stand a great chance to improve upon the PCS MS63 grade upon re-submission ... but I would be surprised by MS65 ... although impossible for us to gauge without the coin in hand.

Best Wishes ... let us know how it goes for you.
