your thoughts..

some of these MIGHT be legit.. but with all the stories I've heard... again, a lot of these sellers arent trying to scam you, they seem honest and tell you exactly what your getting.. I'm not trying to cherry pick an 09S VDB or 31-S.. but just having a chance at an OBW is all...

do you think that an OBW roll of DATED coins only contained those dates? or are they random?

Kind of like a crap shoot isn't it?

With all the stories you hear, who knows. Here's a question for readers of the post:

Has anyone ever taken a chance on such rolls, and how did it turn out?

You never know, but these are usually just stuffed by someone and not truly "OBW". Chances are you going to pay for a roll of common coins.

Just think of it this way......what are your chances of getting cool coins in any bank roll?

We used to get obw rolls like these all the time. They're listed in the greysheet. We've even had unopened bags, but only have one left.

The BU rolls didn't look bad - I don't know what BU rolls for those dates go for. But if they are in the grey sheet you can certainly check.

The worst ones out there are teh ones that are wrapped in modern penny wrappers and have a Wheat cent on one end and Indian cent on the other...

Some of those in those pictures were definately wrapped at the fed/bank level. but you can buy a little crimping tool to roll your own - or buy a machine roller for a few hundred bucks
