Some of you may remember when I posted this topic: https://goccf.com/t/112434
about a kijiji seller who claimed his worthless Shell oil token was from 1905.

Well, after my initial emails to him (as covered in the first post,) I gave him some time to edit the ad. He didn't, so yesterday I reported the ad to Kijiji. I explained that the "coin" was not from 1905 or from Alberta, and that the seller admitted to me that he knew this.

So TODAY, I sent him an email warning him that his ad was in danger of being deleted unless he changed it. Here is what I said:

"After your last email to me, I gave you plenty of time to edit your ad and tell the truth to Kijiji users. You did not.

YOUR LISTING HAS BEEN REPORTED TO THE STAFF AT KIJIJI. You are telling outright lies to all users of Kijiji. You ADMITTED to me that you know the truth about your token,
but you did not revise your listing to reflect that. Your listing will be deleted and your account may be deleted unless you change or remove the ad.

I have also exposed your scam to the members of Coin Community, one of the most popular coin forums on the web. I would be happy to tell them you did the right thing and
edited your ad, but until you remove the lies, my posts of Coin Community will stay there for all to see.

Please do the right thing here."

Kijiji hasn't responded to me yet, but I'll let you all know when they do.

P.S. Any feedback is welcome... Did I do the right thing?

He's edited the ad, with personal message for you. I don't think you're going to make his Christmas card list.

As stated above, here is the original post...

I locked that one so we can keep the conversation in one thread.

His posting for Newfoundland coins is a bit funny too.

"i have a couple of newfoundland coins a 1941 one cent coin made of copper and a 1917 newfoundland 25 cents mabe of silver going for quite a bit on e bay am selling at a fair price of $25.00 for both thanks will consider trading for 2 one oz silver bars or rounds .999 silver only or a lot of silver dollars fifty cent coins quarters and dimes from befor 1967 thanks"

$25 or a couple of .999 silver bars or rounds, or a lot of..... ?

I must confess I sent him a rather unpleasant email regarding his 'note' to a CCF member. It wasn't very nice, but he's welcome to notify the RCMP.... They have no jurisdictional rights in Central America.... :)

This guy must have problems in his head!

As I'm sure you're aware, he has edited the ad to show that the coin was made in 1967, and left me a little note as well.
Today he emailed me this:

"There ya go buddy I fixed it go see for urself and make sure you read closely and take my advice!"

I was already frustrated with this idiot, but he crossed the line with this one, so I sent him this one. I felt like being really rude, but then I would be stooping to around his level. So I stayed civil:

"Thank you for editing your ad. I did read closely, and I am going to take your advice and go one step further:
I am going to stop emailing you, and never even look at your ads again!
I am ending our communication now. Goodbye!"

I then realized I had forgotten something:

"P.S. to my last message: Your behavior has been exposed to the 18,000 members of Coin Community, and I can guarantee none of them will even buy from you either.
Also, I should report YOU to the police for harassment because of your little message to me. I reported you to Kijiji again already. Shameful."

So Mr. Scammer, if you're reading this, congratulations! You just lost over 18,000 potential customers. Also, everyone who does a google search for "Alberta wild rose coin," "alberta token," or anything even remotely similar will be lead here. I don't think they'll buy from you either.
I'm disgusted at you.

CCF guys, any other feedback?

Well.... Considering some of what I said in my email to him, which I don't care to repeat, but some of which might be anatomically impossible, I'm pretty sure there'd be the largest lump of coal in Canada in my stocking. Thankfully, I'm Jewish, and not stupid enough to buy a dreidel from him... :)

Oh, and he's edited the ad again, removing his threats against you. Perhaps you, being rather civil, vs. my utter lack of tact and manners helped him re-evaluate his actions. Looking at some of his other offerings, one does wonder if he isn't the poster child for an endless variety of 'social' diseases...

I don't think my tact did anything. I used his own phrase against him, and threatened to report him to the police for harassment. Kijiji didn't seem to care since they didn't contact him or me.

In response to my last email, he sent this:
"the police would just laugh at you.. I didnt mention any names so who knows who's it to lol and dont worry I dont care about your little coin club also I reported you to kijiji.. creeps like you should not be able to have computers thats shameful.. hey coin/ kijiji police.. I see someone has an ad for a 2010 toonie for $25 go creep them.. FOR THE LAST TIME DO NOT EMAIL ME AGAIN. "

I found this hilarious, because I actually did "creep" them as well. So I sent him this one:

"I bet Kijiji will be sure to ban me for exposing your scam.
And actually, I did "creep" those people with the 2010 toonie. Their claims are unrealistic, but they seem to really believe their coin is special.

This will be my last email to you UNLESS you reply.
Good day."

I would bet my umm... butt that he's going to reply to me.

By the way, I want to stress that I'm not removing the curse words and rude metaphors and things that are anatomically impossible before I post the messages here. Everything I posted here is EXACTLY what I sent him, and everything he sent me. I'm playing the but acting like an angel.

I'll let you know if he replies!

You are being most polite and tactful... I of course, to follow our rules, heavily censor my language in the email I sent him. I was the one who was less than tactful... *MUCH* less, to be fair. But, I didn't identify myself as a member of CCF, or suggest any knowledge of your exchange with him. I merely dealt with material he placed in his ad, or edited in his ad in a manner that probably popped every circuit in his rather defective brain.

Just remember... This is a family friendly forum, and occasionally it is necessary to refrain from the use of certain language which might happen to enter our daily vernacular. :)

Just an observation, if you don't mean what you say people will be less inclined to listen to you.

I agree with that, but he keeps saying he'll stop emailing me, and then sends me another email before I've done anything. I'm not going to stop emailing him, unless he stops emailing me.

UPDATE: He hasn't replied yet, and he's usually very prompt.
So I think this war is over. But Admin, don't lock the thread yet.

Syslav, I am going to stay true to my word. I said I would not email him again unless he replied to me.
He did not reply, so he won't be getting any more emails from me.

I wouldn't worry about receiving a reply... I've sent him a few emails noting the amazing number of hits that page is getting compared to the rest of "bleep" he's selling. I even asked him how he could part with his very own Oscar Meyer Wiener-mobile.... But I did compliment him on keeping it wrapped (in the original packaging.).

I also think he might have lost a little steam when I suggested he not remove his necktie if a moyel were nearby...

(For those who don't know what a moyel is, it's a rabbi that does a specific ritual 8 days after a boy is born...)

That's actually a fair price for a Weinermobile. I used to collect Hot Wheels.
I have a chrome one! :)
