I'm sure some of you saw this thread on another forum. I just wanted to bring some more picture to you all here. Look in the commem forums for some photos of my commens too. I just received these in the mail and I am in LOVE with them. If you enjoy them go ahead and chime in or post photos of yours. I have also just got this photo setup here going and will be working on getting it better tuned. I was borrowing my brothers 28-80 macro lens to check it out and I'll be getting my own here shortly. For lighting I'm using two halogens at between 9-3 to 10-2. I kind of move the lights around until I find a photo that I like. 1931-S SLQ 1909-O Morgan 1975 Ike Now, here's a closeup of the top right of the bell to depict the coin that this was minted over. 2012 20 Ameros, 1 oz .999 silver 2012 1 Amero, 1 oz .999 copper And my favorite of all. I love this hard times token design. Got my brother into liking it as well :D I look forward to see what you all have to say about my photos and coins. And thanks DCarr for the awesome fantasy coins and hard times token. Steve

I like them! Regardless of what you call them (tokens, Doctored coins, Fantasy pieces) Carr is a talented artist and I think his work is very cool....

I admit I like his US fantasy coins also. I have the 64D Franklin, 09 O Morgan, 70 silver Ike, 75 Ike clad (not bicentennial REV), 31S SLQ, and the 2009 S ASE (incredible buy off of ebay - 65.00!). I missed the 33 Buffalo and am sorry I did.

I came that close to buying a 31S struck over die pair 2 for 75 tonight ... lets see if I blew it a year from now by not buying it. Oh well .... it's been a while since I bought anything anyway. I too am a fan of these "things" Quote:ArrowsAND RAYS: Carr designed 2-3 of the State Quarter series, didn't he? from wikipedia about State QuartersI found this statement under Satire I don't quite understand whether this clarifies he did or not have something to do with the official designs for these State Quarters. I can't find another resource. Quote:Sculptor Daniel Carr, whose designs were used for the New York and Rhode Island State Quarters and whose concept was adapted for the Maine State Quarter, has created a series of parody quarters making light of the State Quarter concept.

Dan Carr designed the New York and Rhode Island State Quarters. He also submitted a design for Maine which was approved but then the Mint altered his artwork much to the dismay of many artists submitting State Quarter designs. Between DC's Maine Quarter snafu and the debacle of the Missouri Quarter, the Mint stopped accepting public design submissions and only accepted design concepts after that which led to many of the decidedly lackluster designs of the State Quarters.
