...some nice ones too! One of my daughters found my "stash" of Ikes. That is not the problem, the bigger majority were circulated versions anyway. The problem is the ones that I had encased in AirTites were among them! I can't be too upset at her, she does not know the difference between keepers and spenders, but...I wonder what else she has gotten into of my "collection" at home while I am away?

how old is she? if she is young then forgive and put your coins in a higher spot. if she is older put her in a timeout or have a talk with her.

I'm no detective, but I'm guessing she is older. If she were younger, she wouldn't be able to spend them without her parents being with her at the time. That's just my guess, though.
It is unfortunate either way.

Can you say safe or gun cabinet. Sorry about your missing coins.

Sounds like she is a teenager or near the age of one, if she can go out on her own and spend money. That is too bad. Sorry to hear about the coins being stolen, especially from a family member.
I have a friend, who has an older brother, and that was done to him, when he was a teenager, many years ago. It happens.
What kind of store would accept an Ike coin though? I doubt many people know what one is.

She is 13 and we are now looking for a "safe" of some type. We are taking her with us to explain why she forced us to do this. She also got into "their" lunch money my wife used to keep in her dresser. Some of it (lunch money) was pushed back under the door and my other 13 year old daughter (yep, twins) brought me a couple of Ikes from their room. We had a talk with our "sticky finger bandit" about why she was stealing, we got the "I don't know" response. I think that she is trying to buy her friends instead of winning them over.

Sounds like a bad situation with deeper rooted causes. I wish you success guiding her through adolescence
