Since I didn't buy the fake Greek and since I will be out of touch for almost two weeks, I thought I would buy a few more coins and hopefully they will be waiting for me upon my return. The first is a Dupondius of Nerva, RIC 87, struck at Rome:

OBV: IMP NERVA CAES AVG P M TR P COS III P P, radiate head right
REV: LIBERTAS PVBLICA S-C, Liberty standing left, holding pileus and sceptre

Newest-Buys

The second is a Tetradrachm of Maximianus, Milne 4855, struck at Alexandria:

OBV: A K M A OVA MAXIMIANOC CEB, laureate, draped & cuirassed bust right
REV: Homonoia standing left holding branch & cornucopiae, L-G across fields

Newest-Buys

The third is a Denarius of Septimius Severus, RIC 176, struck at Rome:

OBV: SEVERVS PIVS AVG, laureate head right
REV: PART MAX P M TR P VIIII, two captives seated at foot of trophy

Newest-Buys

Once again I am over my budget for the month. But, hey, I am working the next two weeks and I won't be buying nor looking during that time. All three were less than $70 including shipping.

I don't know where you folks are finding all these good deals, but I need to start finding some too. Very nice coins at and excellent price.

Thanks for the compliments. The Septimius Severus has a weak reverse, but like you said, a nice portrait. I'm not sure yet, but the Nerva looks like it could use a gentle cleaning when it arrives, but we'll have to wait to see.

That's an interesting group...I think the Nerva will look better in-hand.
I almost bid on the Severus--glad you got it!

Check your ID on the tet. The photo does not match the legends quoted.

You are correct Doug. I just took what the seller had and went with it. It would seem this coin is Milne 5072, year 8, second officina:

OBV: MAΞIMIANOC CEB, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right
REV: Homonoia standing left, probably not holding anything in right hand & cornucopiae in left hand, L-H across fields
