I have been watching ebay closely for a quarter near spot, when I saw this listing. Each individual quarter I find is usually a couple dollars more than spot. I've been watching ebay closely, too. The reason I'm looking for a quarter, is so that I can turn it into a ring for my girlfriend. So I'm pretty much buying them to hopefully destroy only one, and turning it into a ring.

Is there any of these 4 specifically that are worth more than others? Or are they all common dates?

Here is the link:

Thanks for any responses,

Brian

If you are just looking for just one silver quarter, then you would probably be better off going to a local coin shop instead of ebay. If you want a circulated coin, then you can find it in a dealers junk box for close to silver value. Even uncirculated quarters from the 1960's are available just above silver spot price.

When you're buying just one or two, stay away from ebay. It's just not worth paying the extra 1-2 bucks.

i agree with everyones opinion, quarters are so easily obtained you can always get a deal for one at your local coin dealer if needed

Well, I got my quarters in the mail today, and I got it to look sort of like the ring I had planned, on the first try. The outside is round, can't say much about the inside, though. Haha

I'm happy with it!

Anyway, here is a picture:

Help-Needed---Pre-64-Quarters

Now there is about $4 in silver on my garage floor.

I lightly hammered the edge of the quarter while rotating it until I got the size that I wanted. Then I used a drill and file to get the center out. Use fine sandpaper to clean it up, then toothpaste to polish it.

Could have saved the time and money by going to a jewlery store and buying a Silver Ring. No dents, no unrounded edges, could have had it engraved. And even had a diamond placed on the center. Yours looks like a wedding band you know.
