I was looking through my world coin collection and checking up on some prices and noticed this coin that I never did find much more about. After looking up some info I found this site:

http://www.ngccoin.com/poplookup/Wo...mSearch=true

It says "Reported, not confirmed" and it is the only 1835.

You can see a "3" where the 5 is in the picture below. Some damage, cleaned at one point.

ebay had one for sale.. but I don't know if this is the true value. But it is the exact same coin. Maybe it is only worth $10.. lol

Got it in a dealer discount bin :)

Anybody know more about this one... or if there is anybody who knows more about Peru coins?

I collect overdates, and I have a small group from Peru.
I would say the date on yours looks a lot like the ebay coin.
Nice find! It looks like a good candidate for 5/3. Closer pics of the date, if possible, would help.
The Peru overdates I have are pretty common, with not much premium over the normal date.

The seller left the buyer of the ebay coin FB... Contact the buyer and see if he has any insight to offer. Buyer seems to be an accumulator of Peru and Bolivia pieces, maybe he knows something. Hopefully that person will respond; I'm sure someone who just spent (?) $1500 on a worn piece, apparently counting on the extreme rarity of that date, won't be all that happy to learn about another one in existence...

Thanks realeswatcher and DVCollector! I appreciate your comments.

I will get a close up of the date soon.

I will also try to contact that bidder and see what they would say about it.

One of these was up today in the Stack's INC online (AKA cheaper) session; reminded me of this thread. At least the 4th one I've seen now... Safe to say that the rarity implied by Krause's "reported, not confirmed" is probably a bit overblown:

So, at least, we have the OP's coin, this Stacks piece... and (2) others:

I have seen (6) pieces now. This one is from Sedwick #18 (quite the markup it has undergone, even ignoring the information disconnect):

Indeed...

Well, this forum gets very good Google placement. If someone is interested in them and has a brain, they'll do some digging and find this.
