On 1 Shilling, does 1953 and 1954 are with and without "FD" on observe too ? If not what is the difference ?
The other are corectly listed ?
Does all are found in circulation ? ( I just want to collect the coin intended for circulation )

"1927 parliment house" was a circulation issue.
1934 "horse with rider" florin wasn't intended for circulation. It is usually called the "Centenary florin", and it bears date "1934-35". It celebrates two events: the settlement of what we now call Victoria, at Portland, in 1834; and the foundation of (the City of) Melbourne in 1835.
In 1927, 1934, and again in 1935, there were florins issued for circulation, with the same features as all the others 1911 to 1936.

Ummm. Do we want to confuse the issue of half penny's with the 1916 mule? It was supposedly in circulation, although I've only seen 3 instances and heard of about a dozen. Cheers The Other Peter

Ok so we want the first coin of each type. So -
COPPERS
Half penny 1911 George V 1938 George VI Old reverse (Commonwealth of Australia) 1939 George VI Kangaroo reverse 1953 Elizabeth II Kangaroo reverse (the 1916-I mule does have the Indian Quarter Anna Obverse so I could be called a different type, It's up to you)
Penny 1911 George V 1938 George VI 1953 Elizabeth II
SILVER
Threepence 1910 Edward VII 1911 George V 1938 George VI 1953 Elizabeth II
Sixpence 1910 Edward VII 1911 George V 1938 George VI 1953 Elizabeth II
Shilling 1910 Edward VII 1911 George V 1938 George VI 1953 Elizabeth II
Florins 1910 Edward VII 1911 George V 1938 George VI 1953 Elizabeth II
Commemorative Florins 1927 Parliament House 1934-35 Melbourne Centenary (plus Foy & Gibson bag if you can) 1901-1951 50 Years of Federation 1954 QEII Royal Visit
Crowns (5 Shillings) 1937 George VI
GOLD Given the cost and sheer number of different varieties I don't think it is worth just trying a type set. Better to go the full set. Just my opinion on this one.
Cheers Peter

Hi !
Thank you for this information, I see some difference between some list but I will read again to be sure...
Does it mean that the 1/2 and 1 Sovereign are gold ?
THanks !

Canada ALSO produced gold sovereigns, of the same type as the Australian ones.

Hi Yves,
Yep the Australian 1/2 and 1 Sovereign's are gold.
So starting price currently is about $350 + (last time I checked).
The thing with the Sovereign's, both 1/2 and 1, was that there are SO MANY different varieties. That is why I'm thinking that I will not be collecting them.
Cheers Peter S
