I went into my coin shop today and looked around for some 1oz bars of silver when I noticed a very nice ICCS graded $5 gold peice of Canada. I didnt have enough money but I might be going back next week to pick it up. Hopefully it is still there.

It wasn't a graded coin, but my first ever gold bullion purchase was a $5 Canadian. I'd spent as much or more on silver coins in the past. But buying that "first gold" made it a pretty exciting day.

Good luck with your purchase!

Understood, coincollect1. I assumed it was a King George V or similar? Either way, nice coin and great addition.

Agreed. A beautiful coin like that is a piece of history.

I have a little 1/4 ounce proof. Got it as part of a set that also included an ounce of silver and 1/10 of AG. All show the same pic. I believe the country's Jersey.

My 1st golden piece was .5 oz asw S.Korean commemorative olympic coin I bought for 80 USD on auction at BIN price (don't know why seller put it this way, but it was a box with several other silver coins plus coa's)

Then it continued to $5 US commemoratives ..
