So I have my five coins ready for submission to NCS and NGC and I have filled out the NCS form. I have selected registered mail on the form. There is no place on that form for return shipping. Anybody done the NCS/ NGC route before. Do I just tell USPS when I send it and insure it that I want to pay for return shipping? I have never done this before. Any help? I have contacted NCS and they say I have filled out the only and correct form needed but it's a bit different than the NGC form as far as shipping, etc. Help!

OK, I just sent them off with the form. Hopefully NGC will just charge my card upon the return shipping since they have that info on hand. Does that sound right?

I havent used NGC before only PCGS but if its anything like that they either built the return shipping cost into your charge or will just bill you for it. I doubt they will reject the submission over that. At worse they may place a hold on it and you will have to call them to make payment and they will proceed. I wouldnt worry to much

I have just done a NCS/NGC modern coin conservation and grading order. You will be fine... after they sit at NCS for awhile, they move over and are then invoiced and shipped back. The only thing is you won't have the exact return shipping cost until they process it at NGC, unlike the direct NGC shipment that calculates the postage for you. If you use a CC, they just charge the shipping extra. If you sent a check, I'd imagine they will send you an invoice like basebal21 mentioned.

I had the coupon from the initial joining that I sent in, but I did include cc info and signed it. So if they have any questions they should call. I am worried about sending that much $ in coins in the mail. I sent them a week ago and they still aren't there. USPS said it takes longer because it has to be accounted for every step along the way.

Check where they say the package is with your tracking number. The grading company almost certainly wont just send the coins back rejecting them without contacting you first as it just costs them money to do so. They have a financial interest in getting your coins graded too. It takes a while for them to grade them though. They will sit there for a while before someone gets around to them. When they say 20-30 days they basically mean 30 days.

I assume you sent them registered and registered can be very slow in traveling. Two weeks is not too unusual and a month and a half or more is not unheard of but unusual. On the other hand there is no safer way to ship. You are probably more likely to choke to death on your supper tonight than for your registered package to get lost.

Thanks for the support, it was my first registered package and it was delivered yesterday morning. Now they are in NCS then NGC's hands. We'll see how long this takes. This is my first submission.
