Hi! I'm new to this coin community, but am active over at the "Collectors' Universe" Forum, where I try to keep up-to-date for each year all the blue Whitman folder collections which I started as a young boy.

I was a bit sad (nostalgia) to hear Canada was discontinuing the cent, as this will be my first truly discontinued denomination since I started collecting, if you don't count the fiasco with U.S. dollars.

I also now urgently need to catch up my & my sons' cent collections for recent years before they all disappear.

I was hoping someone from Canada reading this thread might be able to help us catch up from 2006 through 2012 with the following cents:

2006 (1)
2006-P (4)

2006-RCM (steel=4 & zinc=4)
2007-RCM (steel=4 & zinc=4)
2008-RCM (steel=1)
2009-RCM (steel=4 & zinc=4)
2010-RCM (steel=4 & zinc=4)
2011-RCM (steel=4 & zinc=4)
2012-RCM (steel=4 & zinc=4)

We would appreciate the help very much, and could either pay or trade for them, as we have some extra US and Canadian (and British) coins available for anyone interested in swapping.

We similarly need to catch p on other Canadian denominations, if anyone's interested, but, for now, cents would be our top priority.

Please contact/e-mail me if interested & can help us.

Thanks in advance!

- - Dave

The magnetic variety has been on ebay for a couple of weeks, and just this weekend I started to see non-magnetic listings. Those are the last two I need to complete my small cent set, so I went ahead and ordered from a convienient dealer in Ontario.

The problem with ebay is that many people don't consider looking elsewhere before they purchase.
The fees also push people to list for higher prices to turn a profit on certain items.

does anyone think or know if One cent/penny will still be made to put into ca mint Specimen or Proof sets starting in 2013?
They do this here in US with Kennedy half, it's just made for sets, bags & rolls...Not sent to banks for public use.
Also does the ca mint put out a monthly production report of coins, the US Mint does post monthly production of coins made here:

AFAIK, the RCM does not put out monthly production reports. The only place where I know to find mintage figures is in the yearly report, which one can find on the RCM's homepage. The report for 2011 should come out in a few weeks.
