Most fun to deal with would definitely be cents. No other denomination has been studied more, so there have been more varieties discovered. Also, cents from both Canada and the US have had much higher mintages than other denominations. The more coins made the more dies used. The more dies, the more varieties.

Hi there. The denomination has to be the cent, closely followed by anything not in my collection...

Do a search on ebay for 'error' in the coin and currency section and you'll see far more cents than anything else.

I agree, the pennies seem to have the most varieties, but I think second place would have to go the nickels. I've found that most years of nickels seem to have a variety or two or at least a classic error. Add in the doubling, die crack, die chip and rotation errors on top of that and you can get quite a sizable collection of treasures. And they're usually cheap to boot! Lol!

While 1c coin errors are common, generally, the bigger the coin, the more impressive the error... nickel dollar, silver dollar and twoonie errors can be breath-taking...

The reason I put this poll up was to show everyone that probably the most watched coins were indeed pennies...With 70% of the votes so far indicating that pennies are the favourite coin to analysis, this could mean in the future that since the Mint is stopping the manufacture of pennies, there will be 70% of the collectors that will not have it as good as they did in the past....

P.S. - As SPP indicated..I do have a warm spot for 50 cent pieces.
