It's time to revisit this iconic coin type! We have done the 39 Days of Seated coinage previously, but this time, we're concentrating on the Seated Liberty half dollar only!

So...

It's the 41 Days of Seated Liberty half dollars!

How does this work? On the 4th of April, we all post all of our 1839 Seated Liberty Half Dollars (the first year of minting for this coin type), then on the 5th of April, we all post all of our 1840 Seated Halfs and so on all the way to the 1891 Seated half dollar! Each day will include all mint marks, errors and varieties!

4 Apr: 1839
5 Apr: 1840
6 Apr: 1841
7 Apr: 1842
8 Apr: 1843
9 Apr: 1844
10 Apr: 1845
11 Apr: 1846
12 Apr: 1847
13 Apr: 1848
14 Apr: 1849
15 Apr: 1850, 1851 & 1852 (pretty rare dates!)
16 Apr: 1853
17 Apr: 1854
18 Apr: 1855
19 Apr: 1856
20 Apr: 1857
21 Apr: 1858
22 Apr: 1859
23 Apr: 1860
24 Apr: 1861
25 Apr: 1862
26 Apr: 1863
27 Apr: 1864
28 Apr: 1865
29 Apr: 1866
30 Apr: 1867
1 May: 1868
2 May: 1869
3 May: 1870
4 May: 1871
5 May: 1872
6 May: 1873
7 May: 1874
8 May: 1875
9 May: 1876
10 May: 1877
11 May: 1878
12 May: 1879-1890 (rare ones too!)
13 May: 1891

I can't wait!

So you have a few days to get your coins from the safe, photograph them, crop, edit blow-up etc. And then, on the 4th of April... Post away!

Thank you Moe for leading us through these exciting "Days of" threads. As some of you know I love the Draped Bust and Capped Bust Halfs. I don't have any seated halfs so I think I may need to buy some! This may be a budget breaker!

As an aside I saw a post from Fuzzy317 regarding the Canadian Large Cents thread. Those of you like old copper may be interested. I have almost all the large cents from 1858 through 1920. They are awesome old copper and so inexpensive. Very low mintage numbers and I paid only 2 - 3 dollars for many of them.

Sounds great. Don't have that many Seated halves yet but it is a series that I really like. I'm thinking I might acquire some more of them in the near future, hopefully in time to post on this thread.

I have seen some of Moe's and others on here in various threads and I'm in awe. They are very attractive coins.

Didn't know much about the Seated Liberty Half Dolllars and thought I would look into buying one to join in, but then I checked the prices.

So instead of particapting I will be an envious observer!
