Hey guys, who are some good sellers to buy world coins in bulk from? They seem to average around $10 a pound, well that gets quite expensive but I can certainly live with that if the lots are high quality. Have any of you tried a lot or two off ebay?
Please let me know, thanks in advance :)

The problem is the shipping charge, often it's more expensive in shipping that the value of the coin. I like this way to collect but in same time I ask if it's good investment...

You pay around 8-10ยข by coin and circulated coin have about no value otherwise that the face value. I'm thinked if it's not better to buy commun uncirculated coin or coin at around 3-4$ at catalogue value and buy them 1 by 1, at least it have a catalogue value. On other side, it's fun to have a lot of different coin.

Thanks !

to start off ebay bulk is ok. but I found once I hit about 100 different countries and about 600-700 coins that I started geting a very high ratio of duplicates (the bulk lots are all VERY similiar). at ANY price per pound the chance/cost of finding something I didn't already have was 5x's more than buying singles or small groups off ebay.

plus you will get the odd seller that is selling abosulte junk (high ratio of euro's/mexican/tokens etc). one bad batch and your costs are that much higher.

the BEST coins I have gotten in bulk has been through trading with memebers from this site. send a few pounds off, get a few pounds back, take what you need and trade them off again to another member. all it costs you is the shipping. the cheapest way to trade internationally is 200 coins / 2 lbs, anything heavier and shipping costs start getting expensive.

thing to note if you do trade with members... send what quality/mix you would like to receive. I pick out all the peso's/euros/pfennigs etc before sending them off. nothing worse than getting a box of crap!

in Canada, colonialacres.com has world poundage for $6-8 per pound, I have no idea what their mix is like.

in the USA, I have heard good things about educationalcoin.com and blackmountaincoins.com but their prices are getting up there.
