This ebay offering sure has me scratchin' my head Check out the pics ... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...t_500wt_1091The seller describes this item as: "Great novity coin 1861 CSA 50 cents (Confederate Stares of Americia) An UNC 50 cent piece made of silver I think sealed and unable to test you will like the coin and if if is silver. Well you know what I'm thinking" CCF rules prohibit me from writing what I'm thinking!

I see no problem. He calls it a novelty and says he THINKS it is silver but the package is sealed and he can't test it. A clear case of caveat emptor. Even with the bad photo it is clear that it is a junk piece.
I also don't see why you mention NGC & CAC, the seller doesn't.

Well you won't be able to get your hands on NGC packaging any cheaper.
I find it funny that the label says "NOT GENUINE" but under it it reads "Guaranteed Authentic Only". (But such is how pre-printed labels work.) :-)

So I guess "novelty" is the new "not genuine" And we have a bid To quote the seller: "Well you know what I'm thinking"

I'm still wondering what the seller is thinking? I don't understand that part.

I think he is trying to imply, "Oooh, what a steal for Silver" but is really thinking "A Sucker is born every minute"

That sucks, Steve. Looks like someone, trying to do the right thing, reported him to ebay. Now, there are ways around that...like emailing the seller. Just saying.
