JimHSoars Valued Member United States 72 Posts	Posted 04/04/2012 5:32 pm Hi Ike $ fans: I've seen many '71 - '74 Ikes for sale which look a little cameo and are claimed to be proof, but are not in the brown pack plastic holder. If the mint put these years proof Ikes in a brown pack plastic holder are the coins I've seen for sale actual business strikes which are proof rejects so they have a little frost on the devices? - Jim Report this Post to the Staff

The OGP in this case being the rigid plastic holder and brown box. All of my "Brown Ike" Eisenhower dollars were liberated from their OGP holders and placed in my Dansco album. Conder101 Bedrock of the Community United States 17884 Posts	Posted 04/04/2012 10:05 pm Proofs from the early 70's often do not have the strong cameo we are used to from later proofs. The 73 and 74 proof should have some cameo but it may not be heavy. 1971 and 72 proofs are not unusual in brilliant proof with little or no frost on the coins. Report this Post to the Staff
