hey guys, I have a damaged silver 1833-46 Greece Quarter Drachma. The 18 in the date is visible but the 2 digits after that is not. I realized that this is a pretty rare coin considered in higher grades. What would this guy be worth?
I also have a chinese Fukien 2 Cash Coin, what would you grade it? :D
Thanks in advance :)

The Greek coin is in very low grade, and is also holed (take 10% of the regular price).I would estimate the price in G to be $8.25-12.00, meaning the holed and plugged coin, without the date visible, would probably be worth little more than its silver value. The Fukien piece (Cyclical Date 1906)is worth about $8 in that condition.

The high prices for coins of this period is for problem free coins. There was a tradition through Balkan territory for the wealthy women to wear silver coins as jewellery.that's the explanation for the high prices, because very few survive from this tradition

Indeed, it seems like maybe 75% of 19th century Greek coins I run across are holed.
