425 mercs of all decades....none particularly rare, but some nice condition late 30s and 40s. Picked them up for $780. That seem OK by today's values? I am a complete noob when it comes to mercs.

That's well below melt value, so I'd say you did more than OK

If you sold them at melt now, you'd be up about $195.
Or looking at it another way, if you sold 340 at melt, that's your $425 and you'd have 85 for free.
Yep, nice score.

Nice pickup, Mercs are always in demand. And I'm pretty sure if you do want to sell them you would make a decent profit.

Wow, wondering where you bought those. That's worth about a grand just in melt. It's hard to get coins under melt these days so you did awesome. even if all of them were the same date and the most common one, I would have jumped on that deal.

WOW too from me. Mercury dimes are selling for about $3 each even at flea markets and in any condition.

You really did fantastic. Now take out a good magnifier and check out the 42D. Difficult to see but there are 1942D over 1941. The 42/41 are easy to see but that 42D/41 is tricky and missed by many people. Also, watch for rotated reverses. Many Mercury dimes have them to some degree but some are excessive.
