I spent 5 pres dollars and 1 half at Subway and 2 pres dollars at the Italian store. The lady at the Italian store asked me for my name. They had been referring to me as "the coin guy".

I spent $7.50 (seven dollar coins and a half) to buy an Italian sub, chips, and a soda. Then, I later used a half to make the amount from bottle deposits I redeemed an even dollar amount. This amounts to $8.00 being put into circulation.
$48,238 to go.

9 rolls was for 2 cartons of cigs at the cigarette store, and he LOVES getting them. AS far as he is concerned if it is money he will take it. I told him I might bring him 4 boxes of pennies one time and he asked how much was that, and told him $100, and he said if I wanted to to bring them since it is only eleven dollars change because it is all money. The only real problem I have is Food Lion where they open the roll, count some and hand me the tattered roll with the remains back. people have learned who I am where I shop and know what I am bringing. the ones that don't quickly learn when someone comes up and buys the rolls from me before they hit the register and jsut pay for my stuff and pocket the rolls themselves. You should have seem the day I dumped a bag of loose SACs on the Office Max counter to pay for a $214 computer. What can they say really? Either take the money or lose a customer as well get a complaint call to the head office, local chamber of commerce, and better business bureau on the grounds of discrimination. (currency denomination discrimination... say that one 5 times fast!) the best way to spend rolled halves is to make sure your purchase is $9.51 or more so they cannot hand a half back. of course add even 10s as you go, just sometimes I cannot find and candy to add to it at Food Lion to bring it up there so end up with one or two back ad just get a donut at the drive-thru on the way home. that is where a lot of my random "snacks" come from trying to get rid of what is left of that full roll.
