$59 halves: cigs, pencils, cookies (I can understand girl scouts are trying to support themselves or somesuch, but at $4 a box these thin mints better climb into my mouth and chew themselves when I want one!)

$3 and a half for food. $3 for a magazine. $2 for a couple books. And a half at a new local coin shop.
Total $9.
$23,701 to go.
Notes: I'm trying to work on spending dollar coins instead of dollar bills to see if I can help increase the circulation of the coins locally. Picked up a couple BU rolls of 2000D from my bank yesterday with a couple rolls of halves. I'm already discovering that having four dollar coins along with the other coins in my pocket just ins't very convenient. And I do pay with exact change so it's not like I have 20 pennies or $3 in change, either. This leads me to conclude that the dollar coin will only be successful if used in conjunction with widespread circulation of the $2 bill or a $2 coin.
And this was just the first week of my experiment...
