Welcome to Coin Community, David. Always happy to see another Dave among us.

Although I haven't done business with them yet, I visit Cheapslabs' website frequently in my travels, and I anticipate that at some time I will be buying from them.

And, have patience with us. It's the morning of Superbowl Sunday, and I think things will be a little slow around here today.

Hi David,
Not to slow for me today I do not watch pro sports on tv so here is my opinion. Most TPG companies charge around $20.00 TO $30.00 to grade a coin that you submit to them for grading so if you see a coin that you like at cheapslabs look up what the coin would cost if you got it raw and add the price for a grading fee and see what you get. There are times when a raw coin will end up costing the same as a slabed coin in that case I would rather have a slabed coin over raw. Just be sure that it is from say NGC or PCGS those are the two that I would only have slab my coins. There will be others with opinions however as stated it is Sunday and they maybe slow in coming.

Bruce.

David,
Here is an example last year I was in my local coin shop looking at a 2003 $5.00 gold eagle in a 2x2. He also had the same coin in a NGC slab graded MS69 both coins for the same price so that was easy for me I got the NGC slab so you see at times you can do well just have to be in the right place at the right time.
