I've seen this coin, but for the life of me I can't remember where. I think it is provincial, and I'm still checking my sources.

I think it's a provinical. The face looks a little like Trajan Decius, that's just a guess though.

I don't think this is a match, but it's close. It's an Augustus AE17 from Thessalonica, RPC 1559:

I think the Thessalonica hint just helped a lot!

The portrait has a bun at the back of the head. You can kinda see it in my pic; better in hand.

It's possible, you might be able to clean the obverse slightly to try and bring out some more of the legend.

THAT looks more like a match to me. Perhaps a light cleaning on the obverse will help, but I think you have it there. Good going!
