need help.....I'm looking at a 1829 bust half...looks to be a xf-40....I'm wondering if someone could explain the differrence between small and large letters? might be a better buy if it's large letter variety?
Of the twenty varieties known for 1829, only one is classified as "Large Letters" - O-110/110a. You can tell it by the word spaces, which are far closer than the smaller-lettered varieties whose word spaces are the full width of a letter.
It's not a particularly rare variety, and shouldn't affect pricing. There are far-scarcer 1829 varieties.
