Okay so you get a box and 7 one ounce coins for 89.95. Makes no sense. Are they also missing Tom Thompson. He is my favorite.

$89.98 gets you the first coin and a subscription for the other six. Every few months they will send you one more coin and charge you (around $90) for each additional coin.

Tom Thompson was a main influence on the group's formation but actually died before the group of seven was formed.

Brings back memories of visiting McMichael's gallery when I was younger... I ordered a set, it will be stunning in the traditional sense (non-bedazzled).

I think this set will be well worth it, even just for the quality of the engraving and the cultural significance of the portraits being displayed. I ordered one set, and I must say I am looking forward to every coin.

Don't see too much talk about this, but I knew I would subscribe as soon as I saw the preview of the releases. Not blown away by the preview picture on the mint website but wasn't impressed with the silver Titanic coin preview either but ended up really liking the coin in person. I think this will be the same. Very interested to see what they can do in traditional design.

So I guess mintage for this coin is 14000
7000 for the sets and 7000 individual
I'm not sure why the mint counts them separately.
I guess it makes them look a bit rarer

Hi tristen1230,

I know RCM has Tom Thompson's "The Jack Pine" $200 gold coin back in 2002.

Hi falcon,

I think there are 7,000 total. Like the Chinese lunar set.

There will be only 7000 of each coin made, that includes those designated for distribution to the individual sets (as far as I know, please correct me if I am wrong).

I am wondering if they should have added some colour to these coins?

I didn't think it would sell out so fast. Seems like the new coins these days are selling out really quick. Again, I hope that doesn't translate to increased mintages for future coins.

The set is also denoted as "Awaiting Stock". I am unsure if more will be available in the future (I assume there will be).
