At all of the coin shows I go to there are always people there selling 2x2's, 1 1/2x 1 1/2's, coin books, etc. The 2x2's usually go for $3/100 as already noted. One dealer not long ago sold me 200 for $3 but I think he just got comfused. What I like about buying them there is no shipping, no taxes, no postage, etc. Of course at a coin show I usually spend way to much anyway.

Speaking as a coin supplies dealer I can tell you for sure that shipping just "ain't" as cheap as it used to be. With USPS raising rates every time you turn around, and usually UPS following each time, it costs quite a bit to ship heavier items like 2x2's and vinyl pages. And heaven forbid one of our friends "Down Under" try to get a good deal....shipping that far has gotten outrageous in the past few years. We still ship a lot of product overseas, and we always charge whatever the actual shipping costs, but it's always expensive.

I got a great deal with JP'S,original price was $2.95 per 100,and then got a discount on those prices for amount I purchased.I think the shipping for the amount I ordered was okay.

Hi all,
With the upcoming Presidential $ closing in. I have been searching
around for a coin holder that will show the three (3) sides of the coin.
It was mentioned before (don't remember who) that the albums would not have
the capability to examine the coin without having to remove them from the
album. I had purchased the Dansco #7184 long before and had not thought of this.
And this is what I found from Brent-Krueger.

I only purchased 1 page to see it and the smaller packet of the holders. I like it ! So I guess I will have to add a 2 set of the Presidential $ to fill.

These are currant Aust.Post rates for parcels to America in US$.
Air Mail Sea Mail
2.2 lb $18.60 $12.80
3.3 lb $26.80 $17.50
4.4 lb $35.00 $23.70
Are your rates in the other direction comparable?
As I mentioned earlier most of the 2X2's and multi pocket binder pages are up to four times the price in Oz compared to US.
It would be great if the freight rates were similar.
regards,

2.2 lbs. $22.75 $25.80
3.3 lbs. $22.75 $31.35
4.4 lbs. $22.75 $36.90

Seems to be similar both ways.

The funny thing about coin supplies is lately, I have been buying them from the local coin shop, but I still buy all of my coins from ebay, go figure.

Thanks for those prices 'air-tites'. There must have been a stuff-up in the earlier quote that I got as the package weight that they quoted was about 3.5 lb. I'm not trying to play one against the other, but I'll get quotes from you and JP's for comparison. Would prefer to support a fellow member. (added) For oversaes shipping, is all unnecessary packing and wrapping removed before goods are wrapped for shipping? ie. the plastic boxes the 2x2s come in?
regards,

We try our best to keep the shipping weight to a minimum, but there's only so much you can do and still be reasonably sure that the contents will survive a trip half way around the world. We ship our 2x2's in 100 packs, each pack inside of a clear plastic baggie. Hope I answered your question to your satisfaction.

My first and only purchase of 2 x 2's was from air-tites.com and I ordered 1200. Supplied and freighted to Australia they cost me about 10 cents (Aus) each. Much cheaper than buying them in Aus.

Thanks for all the info. and advice everyone. Looks like I may be able to afford to put all my collection in 2x2s and display albums at last. Have been away a few days but when I get a few quotes I'll keep the forum informed.

I would like to say a BIG thank you to Marty Mitchell and his team at Air-tites for the good service and good will they provided when I made a recent purchase there. Even after a hicchup with the invoicing it was sorted quickley, politely and with a 'customer is always right' attitude. Thanks Marty, job well done.
Fingers crossed now while I wait for the post to arrive.
regards,
