Has anyone come across a silver Washington with a 'D' mint mark that is noticeably higher (closer to base of branch)than others? I came across one the other day in a coin shop, and failed to pick it up. Should I have? Any idea of its general rarity? Thanks, Ron

Prior to 1990, mintmarks were hand-punched on each working die so there will be some positional variation.

The position really doesn't matter unless it gets onto the devices...then it may be collectable.
