Somebody gave me a handful of pennies (cents) this weekend, and I'm just now getting around to looking through them. Found this one - I believe it's referred to as being off-center(?). Not an uncommon occurance from what I gather, but it's a first for me. Figured there might be some other new collectors here that haven't seen one, and thought I'd share.

That's a cool find Ralph. I have never been fortunate enough to find an error like that. Definitely one for the keeping. I think I read on here somewhere that if it had a date on it, it would be worth more. Cool find.

Yeah, I think it's kinda neat. It's not only off-center, but there's a little raised spot just below and to the left of the Y in LIBERTY - it appears like a dark spot in the scan.
Don't know diddly about errors - just thought it was cool and wanted to share it.

The distortion on the letters is common. it's called metal flow. It is also common on broadstruck and clipped coins. Clips can be faked, but not metal flow.

Cool find, I love off centers, that's considered a major error even if it's only worth about 5 bucks.

Nice Lincoln error minted after 1992. No telling the exact date, but I can tell it was minted after 1992.

Non-dated off centers sell for around $2-$5.

The Lincoln Memorials I have all came from circulation, and I haven't concentrated on them all that much. How is it possible to tell this dateless cent was minted after 1992?
