hey, I have 4 2001 canadian dimes with no mint mark underneath the queen on the reverse. I know that certain mints have a 'p' in this spot but mine have no mark at all. Just curious to as if this is normal or abnormal. Thanks.

I'm not from Canada, but my wife is, so we dabble a little in Canadian coins.

Check http://www.coinsandcanada.com/coins...ts-1953-2012. They list no mint mark, P mink mark and Volunteers - P varieties for 2001. There doesn't look to be any significant difference in value until MS-65.

Oh yeah, the obligatory "welcome to CCF". If I knew how to, I would put in a colorful banner or smiley face.

Nice! Thanks Amaths. I used the Quick Reply window which doesn't have any of these options. Nice to know.

These are probably Silver proofs, since the mint struck no 2001 coins in no-P .999 Nickel... well at least none for circulation. This is according the the mint's annual reports.
