The toning on the ASE was probably from the holder, so it will probably continue to tone.

That Silver Eagle looks just like one I have that spent about five years in a Littleton Coin clam shell package.

You know, if the toning on the walker were reversed, it would be just perfect - like the rising sun illuminating the coin.

Nice looking toned coins. Toning is a natural process, some coins tone faster than others while some just won't tone. The only way to slow down the process is by using airtites.

Dave, has your ASE picked up any other colors?

The slab can be opened easily and wondering whether to leave the ASE as is or move it into an airtite.

Is the Littleton coin shell your talking about the plastic rectangle one that has some info printed on it? I have one of those..and was wondering if I should leave it in there or throw away the packaging?

Ceylon62 - Mine is the exact color as yours.

Cali-Nick - Yes, the clam shell had a card insert with information about the ASE on it. I took mine out and threw the package away. In hind sight I'm thinking I should have tried another ASE in it.

That's exactly what I am thinking about doing.

How long have you had yours out of the holder?

I'm at work now. I'll check the date when I get home and assume it was in the blister pack since issue. I just pulled it out last year.
